Mobile Thread Repair
We are a small, well-established, family-run mobile business, able to help with modern and older thread problems.
We used to operate from Yateley in Hampshire for 27 years, but we now live in the Southampton area and cover Hampshire, Berkshire and the South Coast East & West. As long as travelling is covered at our hourly rate we will travel between 50–75 miles out from Southampton.
What we do
We restore damaged female screw threads back to original specification and remove:
- Broken off studs & bolts
- Broken off glow plugs in situ
- Locking wheel bolt removal
- Broken off interior bolts
- Broken off brake caliper bleed nipples
- Spark plug holes repaired
- As long as good access is achieved prior to our visit, so drills and specialist tooling can be operated in situ.
Thread Repair Services
Our fully equipped mobile workshop has its own compressed air and also fitted with an inverter, so both 240 and 12 volt electricity is produced via duel batteries. All the time the engine is running, driving between jobs the battery and tools are being charged up, maximising all the fuel being used, doing our bit for the environment.
Please note: Not all jobs are undertaken!
About The Thread Doctor
After coming from the agricultural and plant industry, always having to do our own thread repairs, it became apparent that there was a need for this kind of work in the automotive industry.
My wife and I moved to Yateley in 1990, then moved to Southampton 5 years ago, this is how Thread Doctor Service has grown into what we have today.
